Childrens after school programs offer kids development, learning, recreation, sports, arts, academic, child care, reading, religion, Christian, karate, tutoring, education, teaching, daycare, private lessons, summer, English, early childhood, fun and preschools services and programs. Do your research on the after school program before committing. Target programs that offer what your child is interested in, such as music, arts and crafts, sports, science, math or culture. Then contact a few different after school programs, whether they are offered at your child's school, a library or a community center. Get information such as contact person, hours, availability, programs offered, age groups, activities and cost. Ask for references, contact information, quotes, an outline of company policy and how long they have been in operation. Some programs are free, while others require a fee to participate. Meet with the after school program professionals, making sure they have the proper licensing and training. Some are teachers themselves. Research the program's background and experience beforehand, and find out whether it is part of a local or national government program. Chat with the staff to see if they are courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. Check out the cleanliness of the facility as well. Ask about the various activities, sports, exercise regimes and leadership programs available for your child's age group. Make sure the price fits your budget. If you feel at ease and comfortable with the after school program staff, it's probably a good fit. Before choosing a children's after school program to serve your child care, kids development, learning, recreation and academic needs, keep in mind the center's or school's hours, location, availability, programs, price and experience.
